In a trip to Jordan that took place in November 2016 (10-14), organized by Anwar, some 30 Muslim, Druze and Jewish women participated. Ibtisam Mahmeed, head of women’s department in the local municipality of Fureidis and Anwar’s coordinator, organized the trip.
Among the many exciting adventures of the participating women were: tours in amazing archeological sites (like the Roman stadium in Amman), touring the streets and shops in the city, social encounters among the women in the hotel’s dinning room and watching impressive Muslim and Bedouin weddings that took place in the hotel.
The trip to Amman was used for learning about women’s legal and social situation in Jordan. Two lectures were given by a lawyer, the head of the ombudsman of the Jordanian parliament and by a head of women’s organization in Amman. A social meeting took place with these people in the lobby after the lectures.
